Jason Chapman, DO, MD

Consulting Psychiatrist

Dr. Jason Chapman is a board-certified psychiatrist serving the Los Angeles area since 2013. He joined The Canyon team in 2018 where he specializes in addiction, personality and mood disorders, as well as anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Dr. Chapman settled in Southern California after his service in the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton as an infantryman and deployed to the Persian Gulf before his undergraduate studies in biochemistry at Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. He worked as a clinical trials research associate at the City of Hope National Medical Center before completing his medical degree at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. He later completed an internship and residency in psychiatry at UCSF Fresno Center for Medical Education and Research in Fresno, California. He also has extensive experience providing psychiatric care to incarcerated individuals.

Dr. Chapman’s interest in the study of addiction psychiatry stems from his childhood experience with his father’s addiction. After experiencing the devastation caused by this condition, and upon treating addiction and co-morbid psychiatric conditions during residency, he knew that he had been preparing all his life for this calling. Dr. Chapman’s easygoing demeanor, along with his empathy and thorough assessments, has made him a favorite among his patients and colleagues. He enjoys traveling with his family and “wind-therapy” on his Harley-Davidson Street Glide.

Dear Friends,

On November 10, 2018, the Woolsey Fire destroyed The Canyon at Peace Park’s treatment facility. At this time, The Canyon at Peace Park is not accepting patients for any services. We arranged for the safe and seamless discharge or transition of all patients when we were forced to evacuate due to the fire.

For over 12 years, The Canyon at Peace Park has been privileged to provide integrated treatment for addiction and co-occurring disorders to patients across the nation. Our main focus has always been on our patients and their success. We have served hundreds of patients and their families, providing exclusive treatment and services for a wide range of behavioral health and addiction issues.

Our trained, compassionate staff has been committed to delivering quality patient care with dignity and respect, with the goal of helping our patients return to their communities as healthier individuals. We are extremely proud of the sacrifices of those who worked every day, often under challenging circumstances, to positively impact our patients’ lives.

We thank the physicians and staff for their expertise and dedication in providing high quality, compassionate treatment and care to the patients we have served.

We look forward to carrying on The Canyon at Peace Park’s legacy through our outpatient locations in Santa Monica and Encino. Foundations Recovery Network also has other residential and outpatient facilities around the country offering the same high quality of service you’ve come to expect from us.
