What to Expect

Even though cocaine addiction is a medical disease that requires medical treatment, cocaine rehab does not have to be scary. Cocaine rehab often includes a medically supervised detox to ensure each patient is as comfortable as possible. After that stage, the focus shifts to the psychological aspect of cocaine addiction. A number of therapeutic treatments are available. Let’s look closer at each of the areas of treatment.

Physical and Medical Monitoring or Detox

Your body needs time to adjust to the lack of cocaine in your system.

In some cases, medication may be used to treat any cocaine withdrawal symptoms. This can take a few days to more than a week depending on the height of your addiction. When you are physically stable, then you will be able to focus on the mental aspect of drug abuse.

Treatment To Help You Move Forward

Cocaine increases levels of the natural chemical messenger dopamine in brain circuits controlling pleasure and movement.[1] The great thing about drug treatment is there are other healthy ways to help you feel better. Exercise, yoga and meditation all can help you feel better and manage stress. Psychotherapy—which is often called talk therapy—is where you talk about your problems and struggles with a therapist or counselor. This process leads to healing and finding constructive ways to deal with any challenges you face.[2]

Many individuals who have been to cocaine rehab find they are more focused and alert.

Your mental capacity diminishes when you abuse cocaine. After drug detox, you can restore clarity. The details of treatment will vary, depending on the specific rehab center. However, in general, the more options you have, the better. Having different options available increases the likelihood of finding the right combination to address your specific needs.

The Importance of Options in Rehab

At The Canyon, we believe the first step is to address the physical side of addiction with a medical detox. After that, we make sure that exercise, yoga and meditation, and healthy meals are a priority in your treatment. We help you recreate your habits so that physical and mental wellbeing are incorporated into the foundation of your new lifestyle.

We believe the best cocaine rehab program is one that is personalized to meet your specific needs and circumstances. There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all treatment when drug addiction is both a psychological and physical issue.

Everyone’s drug use is different.Because of that, cocaine rehab program needs to address your individuality if it is going to help you heal as an individual. If you would like to learn more about our cocaine rehab here at The Canyon, contact us today.

Dear Friends,

On November 10, 2018, the Woolsey Fire destroyed The Canyon at Peace Park’s treatment facility. At this time, The Canyon at Peace Park is not accepting patients for any services. Our main focus has always been on our patients and their success. We have served hundreds of patients and their families, providing exclusive treatment and services for a wide range of behavioral health and addiction issues.

Our trained, compassionate staff has been committed to delivering quality patient care with dignity and respect, with the goal of helping our patients return to their communities as healthier individuals. We are extremely proud of the sacrifices of those who worked every day, often under challenging circumstances, to positively impact our patients’ lives.

We thank the physicians and staff for their expertise and dedication in providing high quality, compassionate treatment and care to the patients we have served.
